According to their website, it seems that at this time, the only way to become a U.S. Deputy Marshal is through their Centralized Student Career Experience Program. To be eligible for this program, you must be attending a college or university that has an agreement with the U.S. Marshal Service, be a U.S. Citizen, Be at least 20 years of age, Be a Junior or a Senior, be at least a half-time student, have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 in your major field of study and an overall GPA of 2.75, have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, successfully complete a structured interview, successfully complete a full-field background investigation, meet the medical qualifications, be in excellent physical condition and successfully pass the physical fitness test. If you are selected, you will receive sixteen weeks of training and experience to give you an idea of what the job of a U.S. Deputy Marshal consists of. If you do well, and receive a recommendation, and finish your degree, you can be converted to a full-time U.S. Deputy Marshal. The U.S. Marshal Service also has Detention Enforcement Officer positions and Aviation Enforcement Officer positions. For more information, go to their website.
